Into the Round of 8 of the Beyond the Summit EU #3 online series we go, where we will see some of the stronger teams in the tournament duke it out for some good quality Dota. In today’s matches, we will see rising Greek team Ad Finem face off against the recently-adjusted Team Spirit, and other Greek amateur squad BrooDMotherS go up against Polarity.
Ad Finem (1/1 Skybet) v Team Spirit (8/11 Skybet)
Ad Finem have been looking great over the past few weeks, and with their victory over Fantastic Five last Monday they have some momentum to ride going into this fixture. On paper, Team Spirit does have the advantage thanks to their experience in high profile tournaments such as the Shanghai Major, but the price on the Greeks is too good to pass up considering the performances they’ve been putting on lately. Evens for a team that’s been winning several games lately? We’ll take that for sure.
While we’re on the subject of Ad Finem, they really seem to be growing slowly but surely as a team. Should they keep this momentum up and look at every game (win or lose) as a learning experience, we might just see Greek Dota become a real threat in the scene before too long. Expect us to recommend them for bets for a while as long as they can keep it rolling.
Recommended Bet:
Ad Finem to win with Skybet at 1/1 (2.00)
BrooDMotherS (10/3 bet365) v Polarity (1/5 Skybet)
Polarity, the new sister team to Virtus.pro, contains some immediately recognizable names in its roster. DkPhobos and Lil jump out at first, with 9pasha and Afoninje being the next. Jenya is kind of a new face to the CIS scene and the Dota 2 world in general, so it should be exciting to see just how much he can contribute to this team. Still, it’s clear that they have the talent advantage in this matchup, but even that sort of advantage didn’t stop BrooDMotherS from beating Kaipi 2-0 last Tuesday.
Given the odds in this fixture, we’re inclined to think that it would be worth betting on another upset more than the potential loss should a Polarity bet not work out as planned. Yes, we are aware that the current Kaipi roster doesn’t really hold up to Polarity’s own lineup when compared directly, but the rewards versus the cost of backing the Greeks here is definitely worth it.
Recommended Bet:
BrooDMotherS to win with bet365 at 10/3 (4.33)
