With the Manila Major being less than two weeks away, the excitement is no doubt starting to build. Earlier today, Valve and PGL released the official list of broadcast talents that will be running the show in Manila this June 7th to 12th. This list was announced through the official Manila Major website.
At the helm will be consummate host Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner, who has been a regular at premier Dota 2 events for quite some time now. He was last seen hosting the analysis desk at the EPICENTER LAN Finals, where he was joined by analysts such as David “GoDz” Parker and Austin “Capitalist” Walsh. No doubt he will bring the professionalism and excellence he is known for to the event. The rest of the list is a veritable who’s who of Dota 2 casters and analysts, including the ever-energetic Toby “Tobiwan” Dawson, the rap god Owen “ODPixel” Davies, multi-time TI caster David “LD” Gorman, and more.
An interesting thing to note is that former Evil Geniuses team manager Charlie Yang and HWA-Gaming player Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier will be joining the broadcasting team as analysts. To our recollection, this will be the first time for Charlie Yang on the analysis side, and Black^ is not normally seen on-camera as an analyst either. It will be quite exciting to see how they fare in Manila in these roles.
Apart from the usual suspects on the English broadcasting side, the Russian and Chinese teams will also have several recognizable names serving at their respective stations. The Russian team will feature Dmitry “LightOfHeaveN” Kupriyanov, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov, Vladimir “PGG” Anosov, and more. The Chinese team on the other hand will feature veteran players Zhao “Kabu” Kai, Yao “357” Yi, Wang “SanSheng” Zhaohui, and other regulars in the Chinese scene.
