In yet another chapter of the spring roster shuffle in the western Dota 2 scene, the disbandment of North American team Digital Chaos was confirmed by former player Theeban “1437” Siva. 1437 tweeted to this effect earlier today, saying that his teammates were “moving on to bigger things”. Team Secret director Kemal Sadikoglu also announced that 1437 would return to the team as coach for the upcoming Manila Major and presumably also for TI6.
Digital Chaos was formed by community personality and content creator Shannon “SUNSfan” Scotten last year. The team was home to TI5 champion Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling after he was removed from the championship-winning Evil Geniuses lineup, as well as other new players in the Dota 2 scene such as Yawar “YawaR” Hassan, who happens to be Suma1L’s elder brother. Roman “Resolut1ion” Fominok also joined Digital Chaos just last month, in what was a hotly-debated move from the player who hails from the CIS region. No more than two months later, the team he was supposed to call home for the next Major suddenly disbanded, leaving him with no squad as of now.
The rumours regarding the next EG lineup now hold some water in the wake of this news. It was initially rumoured that Clinton “Fear” Loomis and Suma1L himself would leave EG in order to join Digital Chaos, but now we know that this was just hearsay. Now, the community is speculating that the next EG roster will have Fear, Suma1L, Sam “BuLba” Sosale, Aui_2000, and Peter “Ppd” Dager in it, given that BuLba and Aui were both members of DC at the time of its dissolution as a team. Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg may also be seen playing for EG for the upcoming major, as he is a registered substitute player on the team. Depending on the team’s gameplan, he may replace BuLba in the offlane or Aui in the 4 support slot.
